Have you seen the July issue of AARP Magazine? Valerie Bertinelli is featured
on the cover looking very beautiful and youthful! This is the start of the new
phase of 50+ Seniors. Can you believe Aretha Franklin is 68, Mick Jagger 66,
Tina Turner 72 and who would ever believe one of the Beatles is Medicare age?
Paul McCartney is 65!
Welcome to the Baby Boomer Generation. We Baby Boomers don’t think of
our age in numbers and we really don’t feel inside like were getting older, we just
think we are getting better! We certainly belong to a group that definitely feels
“young At Heart”. We now have the youngest mindset of grandparents ever, even
our grandkids listen to the same music we rocked to 40 years ago and it dosen’t
sound dated at all! Have you noticed all the clothing and jewelry covered with
peace signs that are so popular again, our grandkids can thank us for that too.
And yes, we still wanna change the world!!!
Even our Viet Nam Vets are still some of the cutest guys around, no matter how
old they get!
Rita has been very busy planning exciting near future trips for you. Due to a
very busy month, there will be no trip in July. Rita is putting together two trips
in August, the first one will be at the Shedd Aquarium, then the next trip will be
the Wisconsin Bakery tour with lunch at Apple Holler with a tour of the Jelly
Belly Factory. In September we are going to Drury Lane Oakbrook to see Frankie
Avalon which includes lunch. In October, Rita is making plans for the Morton
Arboretum. These trips are still in the planning stage, but we will have much
more info in our next newsletter.
Metro South Medical Center will be at the new Salvation Army with Dr. St.
John who will be doing a lecture on “Skin Care-Where Do I Start” This event will
be held on Wednesday, July 21st at 10:30 am.

such as crocheting on Thursdays at 11:00 am and Bingo on Wednesdays & Fridays
