A Walk In The Park

The Blue Island Park District

FREE Movie in the Pavilion – Thursday July 22nd at 9pm. “School of Rock”. Concessions will be open. Bring the whole family for this great flick!

We’d like to extend a huge Thank You to Jim Walsh of Sportsfields for volunteering extensive field renovation at Memorial Park on his own time after the Festival in the Park. His expertise and hard work were instrumental in our field recovery process and we can’t thank you enough.

This year the Park, in conjunction with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Chicago, utilized the Biosolids program in place of traditional fertilizer. This saves approximately $4000-$6000 a season and also helps us in our effort to Go Greener! For more information visit our website at www.blueislandparks.org and click on “Biosolids” for some FAQs.

The Blue Island Park District will be hosting the Colt National Tournament Sectionals starting this week at Hart Park. Come out Wednesday July 14th at 5:30pm & 8pm or Friday 5:30p & 8p. Volunteers needed! Please call Phil at 708.597.3398. The games will be $2/person and 5 & Under are free! All proceeds benefit Pony, Colt, Palomino Baseball.

Excuse our dust as renovations have begun at Centennial Park and also at the Memorial Park Stadium.

Coming soon: Cardboard Boat Clinic and Regatta, 3-2-1 Blast Off Rocket Building, Youth Fall Soccer League (ages 5-10), August Fishing Trip and more!
