Blue Island Development Corporation

The Forum newspaper is published by the Blue Island Development Corporation, a not-for-profit corporation, dedicated to education and the improvement of the quality of life in the city of Blue Island. For that reason, it is to our community. Established in 1984, the corporation was begun by a group of concerned citizens who hoped to keep Blue Island a desirable, economically stable and vital locality.

As a program sponsored by the BIDC, we are proud to say that our FORUM readership is over 22,000. Our local delivery service assures our advertisers of immediate delivery time to each Blue Island home and business--over 8,500.

It is our intent to provide an educational community network in order to keep residents aware of Blue Island news and views. We initiated Blue Island’s Neighborhood Watch Program. We provide a free housing and apartment referral board, support renovation in our area, sponsor an annual Garden Walk to showcase our community and co-sponsor the Cavalcade of Pride rewarding the average property owner
