Everyone
Dear Everyone:
I always enjoy writing to you-really it is
my pleasure. In that vein, let me thank you so very much for
your response, as a community, to a recent FORUM request.
I'm not braggin' but I want to share a few excerpts from letters
we have received.
--here's a donation, for all the years
I didn't.
--as a former Blue Islander, thank you
for keeping the people abreast of the happenings. Wishing
you many more years.
-keep up the good work. I hope the extra
sent helps a little. Thanks for many years of excellent service!
-Sandy! I'm spending my $5 at the FORUM!
-Thanks! For keeping 'em honest.
-without you, there is no voice. and (one
of my favorites)
-it ain't fashionable to bash the FORUM!
These are just a very small sample, which I
pulled out at random. My wish is that we could print all of
what I like to call “your love letters”. They
make us happy! Danke, Gracias, Grazie and Merci. We care about
you and the community. We are proud of the fact that you trust
and believe us.
Next:
Support our fund-raiser! See our ad, for ourselves,
on Page 7. Buy Tickets! Come and dance at the Eagles! Meet
with us, our writers, staff ! Eat and enjoy! Live a little!
Enjoy “Blue Island” food! And help us out at the
same time! And yes, while on the subject-volunteer to help.
Call us! So far, tickets are available at our office and Carr
Home, Garden & Holiday. (see ads).
Speaking of calling…we want to hear from
you. In our next issue, we will try to deal with a few of
your concerns…call us with your issues and suggestions.
Everyone knows For-U-Mail is always an option, but there's
e-mail or the phone, if you feel chatty! We welcome your input-for
example, there are concerns about some town businesses. Let's
hear from you. ALWAYS, we exercise confidentiality.
With Love returned,
from Sandy May
P.S. To the many of you that called-we are
NOT stopping door-to-door delivery. I asked for your opinions.
Believe me, if that were the case, you would be the first
to know and with plenty of advance notice. I'm trying, in
a tight economy, to par down costs and make us more financially
stable. Ain't easy-our FORUM baby costs us $6000 a month-just
to publish and deliver. Help out-remember what I say frequently-if
everyone in town gave $1, we'd be dancin' in the streets!
