| Stop
the Burn! Again! Plans to reopen Robbins
Incinerator

The Illinois EPA has proposed
to re-activate the Robbins Incinerator to burn 700
Million pounds of wood annually! If this wood were stacked
on a football field the
pile would reach more than 37 stories high. The incinerator
would burn demolition
debris and would police its own 'fuel supply' leaving us vulnerable
to corporate
crime. The burning would emit tons of pollutants, including
lead into our
already compromised air. The project will require a permit
from the Illinois EPA
because of its emissions. The reference permit number is:
07060081. A public
hearing was held April 8 at Keller School in Robbins.
