We are thrilled to co-sponsor Mr. Eig’s visit with the Blue Island Historical Society and our new event partner, the Ridge Historical Society from the Beverly Hills Community of our small northern neighbor, Chicago!

You’ve seen Jonathan Eig on the Daily Show, the Today Show, C-Span and CNN. You’ve heard him on NPR and you’ve read his articles in the Wall Street Journal, Esquire and the New Republic, and his two prior New York Times Best Sellers about Ted Williams and Jackie Robinson! Now, you can meet him at 7:00 pm, Wednesday Night, August 11th when he visits Blue Island’s Historical Society at 13018 Maple to talk about his current bestselling book, “Get Capone”.

In “Get Capone” he uses heretofore untapped sources to get at the real story behind the ‘Capone Myth’ and shares new information about Capone’s role in the St. Valentine’s Massacre, the legend of Eliot Ness and why the government’s ‘plot’ to “Get Capone’ originated in the White House!

Borders Books and Music will have copies of “Get Capone” available at the event for purchase.

Yes, it”s Coming Back In August…Our Annual Summer Salute To Art Bell A/k/a ‘Things That Go Bump In The Night’

”VAMPIRES …CREATURES OF THE NIGHT” @ 7:00 pm, Tuesday, August 10th. Our Guest speaker, Martin Riccardo, Director of the ‘Vampire Studies Information Center’ which he established in 1977. A writer, researcher and lecturer, he has been the subject of articles in the Wall Street Journal and USA Today. Riccardo has authored several books and articles on ‘Vampires’.

“CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE “SAM” KIND” @ 7:00 pm Tuesday, August 17th Guest speaker, Sam Maranto, Illinois State Director of the Mutual UFO Network, certified UFO Field Investigator and Illinois Representative on the ‘Disclosure Project”. He has investigated mass Illinois sightings in Tinley Park and Rockford and the November, 2006 O’Hare Airport UFO Incident. Sam has ’been a guest on the History Channel’s “UFO Hunters”, Coast to Coast AM with George Noorey and NBC News Dateline.

“REAL LIVE GHOST HUNTERS” @ 7:00 pm Tuesday, August 24th Featuring Dan Jungles and the Investigators of the Will County Ghost Hunters Society, a group of researchers and investigators who accept cases throughout the Midwest and document their findings with sound, video and still photography. Dan and his group will be investigating a Blue Island location in July and report on the results at this session!
