Ronald J. Bereta
Ronald J. Bereta passed away on March 26, 2010 of a brain aneurysm. He
lived in Largo, Florida with his long-time friend Heather, and their son, Matthew
Bereta.
Ronnie was born in Blue Island on October 26, 1960. He leaves behind his
Mom, Judy Johnson Boyer (Pete) of Florida, his Dad, Frank Bereta (Sandy) of
Illinois, a son T. J. Harper of Illinois, a beautiful granddaughter Isabella Harper
(Illinois) his brother, Kenny (June) Bereta, his sister Tina (Don) Morin, both of
Illinois and many nieces and nephews.
Ron was a self-taught carpenter. He loved his two sons, the ocean, fishing and
boating.

Ruth A. Boese
Ruth A. Boese, 91, of Blue Island, passed from this life Saturday, May 29, 2010
at Providence Healthcare in Palos Heights.
Ruth was born December 14, 1918 in Chicago to the late Laura nee Hagemann
and the late Edward Boese. She is survived by her beloved cousin Mildred
Petersen and many dear friends. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Blue Island and
a faithful member of Mission Covenant Church. She was a former member of
the St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary and a past district president of Cook County
Rebekah Lodge #90.
A memorial service for Ruth was held Sunday, June 13, at Mission Covenant
Church. The Rev. Eric Hidebrandt, Pasor offi ciated. Interment was held at First
Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in Alsip. Arrangements were entrusted to Krueger Funeral
Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave., Blue Island.

Loretta M. Carver
Loretta M. Carver nee Schultz, 85, of Blue Island, passed from this life Thursday,
June 24, 2010 at Bridgeview Health Care Center.
Loretta was born August 4, 1924 in Blue Island to the late Clara nee Wordelman
and the late Fred Schultz. She was the beloved wife of the late Roy Carver and
the loving mother of the late LeRoy Carver Sr. Loretta is the dear mother-in-law
of Sharon L. Carver, the cherished grandmother of Christopher Carver, LeRoy
Carver Jr., Damien Carver and Roy Carver and the devoted great grandmother of
three.
Loretta was formerly employed by Parco Foods for thirty seven years and was a
former member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She also enjoyed playing bingo.
A graveside cemetery service was held for Loretta on Saturday, June 26, at First
Ev. Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Krueger Funeral Home,
13050 Greenwood Ave., Blue Island.

Rev. Alfredo M. Contreras
Rev. Alfredo M. Contreras, 91, of Chicago Heights, formerly of Blue Island,
passed from this life Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at St. James Hospital.
Rev. Alfredo was born March 23, 1919 in Kansas City, MO to the late Florentina
nee Martinez and the late Ignacio Contreras. He is the beloved husband on Clara
nee Zepeda. The couple were united in marriage in 1935 in Mexico. He is the
loving father of Raul, Sara Reyes, Clemente, Ignacio, Alfed Jr., Samuel, Maria
Guedea, Joel, Rebecca, Rev. Virginia Pulliam, Elizabeth Morales, Annette Hernandez,
John and Ruben. Alfredo is the devoted grandfather, great grandfather
and great, great grandfather of many. He is the dear brother of Antonio.
Rev. Alfredo resided in Blue Island from 1952 until he relocated to Beverly in
1970. He was formerly employed by the Rock Island Railroad as a machinist. He
was also a retired minister and performed missionary work in Mexico for twelve
years after his retirement from the railroad.
Visitation for Alfredo was held Friday, May 28, at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050
Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 28,
at Ev. Community Church. Rev. Bernard and Rev. Virginia Pulliam officiated.
Interment took place at Beverly Cemetery.

Georgia L. Kiger
Georgia L. Kiger nee Leary, 92, of Alsip, formerly of Chicago, passed from this
life Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Palos Community Hospital.
Georgia was born July 22, 1917 in Chicago to the late Jennie Eleanor nee Berquist
and the late Charles Francis Leary. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph
L. Kiger, who passed away in 1979. The couple were united in marriage April 28,
1942. Georgia is the fond cousin of Dr. Robert Berquist and the dear friend to
many. She was a lover of birds and animals.
Georgia was a member of Cook County Rebekah Lodge #90 and a supporter of
PAWS Animal Shelter of Tinley Park. She was formerly employed by CNA Insurance
Company of Chicago for forty years.
Visitation for Georgia was held Tuesday, July 6, from 9:00 am until time of service
at 11:00 am at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave., Blue Island.
The Rev. Jennifer English officiated. Interment took place at Evergreen Cemetery.

Ruthellen Konkol
Ruthellen Konkol nee Peetz, 62, of Blue Island, passed from this life Friday, May
28, 2010 at Belhaven Nursing Home.
Ruthellen was born February 25, 1948 in Blue Island to Ruth Lucille nee Dahl
of Blue Island and the late Robert August Peetz. She is the loving mother of
Denise Konkol and Debra (David) Christensen and the devoted grandmother of
Stephanie Russell. She is the step-mother of Brian (Sue) Konkol, Beverly (Ron)
Krisik and Bernadette (Thomas) Wojewnik and the fond niece, aunt, cousin and
friend of many.
Visitation for Ruthellen was held Wednesday, June 2 at the Krueger Funeral
Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Holy Mass was celebrated Th ursday,
June 3, at St. Damian Church. Interment took place at Chapel Hill Gardens
South Cemetery.

Reverend Dr. LaMar Miller
Rev. Dr. LaMar Miller, 84, of Crown Point, IN, former Pastor of Salem
Evangelical Lutheran Church of Blue Island, IL, beloved husband of Eunice E.
nee Schmid, loving father of Robbyn (Douglas) Rebeck and LaMar Jr., (Marsha)
devoted grandfather of Matthew (Mackenzy), Mark and Michael. Visitation
was Friday, June 4, 2010 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon at Wittenberg
Village, 1200 E. Luther Dr., Crown Point, IN and from 4:00 pm until 8:00
pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave., Blue Island. Funeral
service was Saturday, June 5. Lying in state from 10:00 am until time of funeral
at 11:00 am at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 12951 Maple Ave., Blue
Island.
In 1983m Pastor Miller was granted the Doctor of Ministry Degree from
Concordia Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He went into semi-retirement as
part-time pastor of The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Ojai, California
in 1992. Following a 6-year ministry in Ojai, he was installed as part time pastor
of Beautiful Savior Evangelical Church in Chicago. Pastor and Mrs. Miller
retired to Wittenberg Lutheran Village in Crown Point Indiana.

Jose Romo
Jose Romo, 78, of Blue Island, passed from this life Friday, May 28, 2010 at
Palos Community Hospital.
Jose was born January 26, 1932 to thelate Juana nee Lozano and the late Jesus
Romo. He is the beloved husband of Elisa nee Rodriguez. Jose is the loving
father of Guadalupe Romo, Leticia (Steven) Oster, Ana Romo, Elizabeth Romo,
Jose A. Romo and Arturo Romo . He is the devoted grandfather of Jorge, Omar,
Ivan, Nicol, Amber, Ernesto, Jenna, Joseph, Chad, Adrian, Arthur and Dinora.
Jose is the dear brother of Margarita, Carmen, Juana, Grace, Meyos, Jesus, Pablo
and the late Ramon and Asuncion.
Jose was employed by US Steel for over twenty-five years in the painting department.
His hobbies included soccer and he was president of the El Zapotlan
soccer team.
Visitation for Jose was held Thursday, June 3, from 2:00 pm until the time of
service at 8:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave., Blue
Island. Interment took place in Jalisco, Mexico.
