| Sprucing
up Blue Island

Thank You To:
St. Benedict's School Children, for making
the large flowers that were in
the planters the beginning of April. Sorry to say they only
lasted a couple
of days due to April Showers. The children also made the covers
for our
thank you booklets you may see in the stores.

The Planter Volunteers for the beautiful flowers
in the Main Satreet containers will be taking
care of them all year: Rita Garvin, Dan
Lynch, Michelle Bauer, Fran Blouin, Karen
Burmeister, Becky & Kevin Denny, Julie
Keaty, Lenore Hively, Peggy & Don Jorgensen,
Leslie Kennedy, Debbie & Kevin McDermott,
Martha Tate, Peggy & Jim Walsh, Julie Sklom,
Pat & Val Kehoe and to any one I may have
missed. Thank you the plants do make a difference.
In the planter's for the spring planting
you will find pussy willow and pastel pansies.
There will be a summer planting in June and
fall-winter planting in November.
The Guildhaus and the men who volunteered
their time to paint the planters. Great Job!
Calumet Paint for donating the paint &
brushes. (Deeply appreciated)
The Public Works Department, has also been
busy getting the tractor
ready for the people who water the plants during the summer,
moving the
picnic tables from the City Garage to the park and helping
to fix broken
ones. Thank you for a job well done.
To Boy Scout Troop #788 for putting the 5 new
tables together, in the rain.
It was surely a wet job.
The picnic tables in the park at Western &
York Street have been freshly
primed and await new art work with paint donated by Calumet
Paint, and
brushes donated by Jebens Hardware. (What Great people to
work with).
