Sprucing up Blue Island

Blue Island is lookin’ good, the flowers in the planters, are in full bloom and the picnic tables are in the park at York & Western. Now it is time for the TGIF Picnics to start.

Five new tables have been added to seat more people for the TGIF Picnics. This year picnic tables were painted with several designs by “Gerry Lee”, Gerry Osberg who works in the Senior Citizen Office, in Blue Island City Hall. Thank you Gerry for donating your time and talent to help Spruce up Blue Island and our TGIF Picnics.

Come out to one or all of the TGIF Picnic at the corner of York and Western on Fridays during June and July between 11:00am & 2:00pm for a fun filled lunch.

Don't forget the St. Francis Hospital /Blue Island ProAm International Cycling Classic on Saturday, July 12, 2008. Volunteer and Host Families are need if you are interested or just want more information about any of the City of Blue Island Special Events please contact Rita at 708.388.5735
